Attaining your certification as an Academic Language Professional is a monumental step in your professional development. Our rigorous two-year preparation program, along with your commitment, will equip you with the tools to pass your certification exam and more effectively change the lives of students struggling with dyslexia.
Over our two-year development engagement, you will be trained to use the Take Flight program to teach students with dyslexia to improve their reading skills. The Take Flight program, developed at Scottish Rite for Children, is the time-tested standard of delivering effective dyslexia intervention. Successfully completing a course such as our Take Flight training under the supervision of a Certified Academic Language Therapist-Qualified Instructor (CALT-QI) is a prerequisite for certification by the Academic Language Therapy Association. After completion of the Take Flight training, participants often desire to apply for Academic Language Therapy Association (ALTA) certification status.
